Dreaming a new dream

I didn’t aspire to be a writer.

My dream was always to be a teacher. And that’s what I did. For six years, I taught third graders and fifth graders. It wasn’t always fun or easy, but I loved it. I still have moments when I long to be back in the classroom.

But God had other plans for me. He set me in a new direction and gave me a job that involves writing. And do you know what? I love it, too.

And now the seeds of a new dream are been planted. Over the past two years, I’ve felt God gently nudging me to write a novel, a story that would bring Him glory. I don’t know if I’m up to the task, but I know that He is more than able. So here’s the question. Am I willing to trust Him? Do my part, work hard, and leave the outcome up to Him? I hope so.

Let’s talk: What do you see yourself doing in the future? Have your dreams changed over the course of your life?
